The holder of the role will be responsible for implementing and managing IT business continuity and disaster recovery systems and plans, risk assessments, Business Impact Analysis, documentation of business continuity and disaster recovery procedures, planning, conducting, and debriefing regular mock-disaster exercises to test the adequacy of existing plans and strategies, updating procedures and DR plans regularly and acting as a coordinator for continuity efforts after a disruption event.
•Provide technical backup management expertise to the Senior Manager infrastructure and Head of Technology
•Provide technical knowledge and independent challenge on all aspects of Business Continuity Management.
•Monitor and Automate Backup Processes – Oversee automated backups, ensure job completion, and resolve failures.
•Test Backup and Recovery Procedures – Conduct routine recovery tests to ensure data can be restored efficiently.
•Safeguard data processing operations by identifying potential problem areas and single points of failure may result in interruptions to critical data processing operations.
•Develop and implement Disaster Recovery, Data Sensitivity, Back-up and Disaster Recovery plans and procedures.
•Maintain the Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Plans to include ‘lessons learned’ from mock test or simulations
•Ensure appropriate Incident Response and Crisis Management structures are in place to manage any serious incidents
•Conduct Regular Drills and Testing – Simulate disaster scenarios to evaluate and improve preparedness.
•The BCM expert and point of contact for all BCM incidents that impact business operations and report the business continuity status to senior management.
•Coordinating technical and user testing, drills and independent review and validation of Business Continuity Plans
•Ensure business continuity and recovery tools, documentation, materials (plans, emergency response procedures, call lists, test results, etc) and repository are kept current.
•Guarantee that the continuity risk profile of IT infrastructure and services is understood by carrying out annual Impact Analysis, and Risk and Vulnerability assessments, to identify threats to the availability of IT services, the potential for major disruptions, and plan and implement appropriate risk mitigation strategies
•Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science or related field
•Professional Qualifications: CISA, CISSP, AMBCI, MBCI, ITIL
•5 years of minimum experience in BCM Good Practice Guidelines - Policy and Programme Management, Embedding BC,Analysis, Design, Implementation, Validation, Backup Technologies, Storage Area Networks, Core IT applications, Vendor Management and People Management/Managing teams.
