Custody Operations Officer (1)
Job Purpose
To support the efficient execution of custody and investor services operations by processing transactions, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring timely settlement, reconciliations, and reporting in line with regulatory requirements and internal controls.
Main Responsibilities
Process and maintain securities and cash account openings, including system set-up and static data management.
Capture, validate, and monitor trades in the custody system, ensuring timely settlement and accurate SWIFT message generation (e.g., MT54x, MT94x).
Initiate and process CSD transactions, including transfers, pledges, and account amendments.
Perform daily, monthly, and ad-hoc reconciliations of securities positions and cash balances against CSD, RSE, and correspondent/global custodians.
Support corporate actions processing, including dividends, interest payments, bonus issues, and other entitlements.
Assist in registrar and agency services, including maintaining shareholder registers and processing related updates.
Ensure timely dispatch of client reports, including statements and portfolio holdings.
Monitor settlement cycles (DVP/RVP/FOP) and follow up on unmatched or failed trades with relevant counterparties.
Maintain proper records, audit trails, and documentaton in line with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
Support the Manager, Custody Operations in operational risk management, issue resolution, and process improvements.
Daily Responsibilities:
Process and monitor securities and cash transactions in custody and core banking systems.
Reconcile trades, positions, and cash movements against CSD and RSE reports.
Dispatch daily client statements and reports.
Follow up on pending/unmatched trades and settlement issues with brokers and counterparties.
Update and maintain custody system records, including client and transaction data.
Educational qualifications and work experience:
Bachelor’s degree in any Business Related-Preferably Economics, Accounting/Finance
Professional Qualifications CISI (ACSI level) or any CISI Level is a required field
2 years minimum working experience in Banking Sector and Custody services.
