In a continued commitment to advancing women’s economic empowerment, BPR Bank Rwanda, through its BPR Ikamba initiative, has entered into a strategic partnership with Volkswagen Rwanda to support women drivers in owning their own vehicles.
The partnership was officially marked during a vibrant closing event of Women’s Month, where outstanding women drivers were celebrated and recognized for their dedication, professionalism, and excellence in the transport sector. The recognition ceremony was led by Serge Kamuhinda and Patience Mutesi, who jointly crowned exceptional women drivers, symbolizing achievement and resilience.
This collaboration introduces a transformative financing solution tailored specifically for women drivers under Volkswagen Rwanda. Through this initiative, beneficiaries can access vehicle financing with a significantly reduced barrier to entry—requiring only a 10% down payment and no collateral. Furthermore, once half of the loan is repaid, participants become eligible to acquire an additional vehicle, enabling business expansion and increased income opportunities.
This partnership reflects a shared vision of fostering financial inclusion and creating sustainable opportunities for women in mobility and entrepreneurship. It stands as a powerful testament to how strategic collaborations can drive meaningful impact and accelerate progress toward gender equality.
As Women’s Month concludes, this initiative reinforces the message of “For Women, For Better”, paving the way for more women to move forward—Imbere Cyane—with confidence, independence, and opportunity.
